MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
Personalized Attention to Your Goals and Needs

I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process focused on understanding oneself and others in ways that help navigate life with greater effectiveness and joy. My approach fosters an environment where attentive listening, safe expression of thoughts and feelings, gentle suggestions, and occasionally direct challenges promote personal growth. Changes in relationships or careers, personal losses, new beginnings, difficulties with long-term recovery, and maintaining emotional support are issues that benefit from individual, couple, and group therapy. I work with both young and mature adults, specializing in interpersonal relationships and communication, developing emotional intelligence, addressing mood and personality disturbances, and supporting long-term recovery from substance and behavioral addictions.

Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy involves working together to cultivate strengths and find solutions for problems in living. By discussing current challenges or longstanding issues we may identify obstacles and patterns that open the way to change.
If you think this approach might help, please schedule a consultation today. Call me! 646-863-7909

Group Therapy
Group therapy presents a unique opportunity to understand oneself through interactions with others, and to understand others through a new experience of oneself in a group. I offer interpersonal process groups for young and mature adults. Get in touch to book an initial individual consultation to see if you might be a good fit for any of my new and ongoing groups.

NEW IN-PERSON Process Group forming, co-led by me and Thomas Masat, LMFT, for mix-gender LGBTQIA+ adults, Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 PM ET

Online Group: Good Grief! Interpersonal process group for sociopolitical grief. Tuesdays 6:30-8:00 PM ET
In response to ongoing sociopolitical stressors, this online group supports resilience in families, relationships, communities, work, school, social, and religious environments. This interpersonal process group meets weekly for 90-minute sessions where members practice emotional communication with each other. Although external circumstances may trigger feelings of loss, defeat, anger, fear, and powerlessness, this group assists participants in expressing, understanding, and processing these experiences alongside others facing similar disconnection. The aim is to find meaning and rebuild confidence by addressing self-defeating patterns and emotional burdens related to current sociopolitical issues in daily life.
Interpersonal Groups also for Long-term Recovery, Socialization, and Relationship Issues
